Jumpstart! (8 to 12-year-olds)
This page & program are under construction.
Our Jumpstart! program is an on-ramp for kids who are discovering hockey a little later.
These fundamentals sessions are available to 8- to 12-year-olds who are new to ice hockey or skating. This is not a "beginner" program in the traditional sense - it's a developmental on-ramp built specifically for older kids who are motivated, curious, and ready to learn the game. Whether a child has never stepped onto the ice or has only skated recreationally, Jumpstart! gives them a supportive, age-appropriate entry point into the amazing sport of hockey.
The program runs at 5:10 pm on Sundays in April & May, aside from April 12.
Our goal is simple: help players build the skills and confidence they need to enjoy ice hockey with their peers in Middleton Youth Hockey.
You're not behind; this is your lane.

WHY JUMPSTART!?
Older beginners learn differently from 6‑year‑olds. They’re stronger, more coordinated, and more motivated — which means they can improve quickly with the right structure.
Jumpstart is built around:
- Fast skill acquisition
- Positive coaching
- A welcoming, stigma‑free environment
- Clear progression toward team play
We believe it’s never too late to love the game.
