Hometown Hockey is our new recreational winter hockey program for 8- to 14-year-olds who want to begin or continue developing their hockey skills without the commitment or cost of travel hockey. Inexperienced players are welcome!

Built on the same welcoming philosophy as our successful Jumpstart! program, Hometown Hockey provides an accessible, community-focused hockey experience without the demands of traditional travel hockey. Hometown Hockey isn't restricted to MCPASD students; it's open to skaters from other area hockey clubs and school districts, too!

Birth Years: 2012 through 2018 (we're likely to split into two groups by age)

Skill Level: inexperienced skaters welcome!

Season Fee: $330 for MCPASD; $400 for non-MCPASD skaters; payment plan available

Jerseys: loaner Middleton practice jerseys included to keep costs low

Rental Gear: limited sets available for MCPASD skaters

First Practices: November 6th

Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District skaters pay $330. $400 for skaters outside of the MCPASD.

*MYH offers a payment plan during registration.

Who can play Hometown Hockey?

Hometown Hockey is open to kids ages 8–14, regardless of experience or skill level. Whether your child is brand-new to hockey or looking for a more recreational experience, we'd love to have them!

Does my child need to attend school in Middleton or Cross Plains?

Not at all! Kids from any school district or surrounding community are welcome to join Middleton Youth Hockey's Hometown Hockey program.

Does my child need hockey or skating experience?

No experience necessary! Our coaches will help players develop their skating and hockey skills in a fun, supportive environment. Everyone starts somewhere!

Will there be games against other teams?

Yes! While a weekly practice and skill development are our primary focus, we're working on a few friendly scrimmages against other area hockey clubs. Players will get to experience the fun of playing games without a busy competitive schedule.

How is Hometown Hockey different from our other youth hockey programs?

Hometown Hockey offers a more relaxed, affordable way to enjoy hockey, with fewer games and a lighter schedule than our regular competitive teams. It's all about learning, improving, making friends, and having fun!

Is Hometown Hockey a good fit for older beginners?

Absolutely! It's never too late to try hockey. Hometown Hockey is a great opportunity for older kids who are curious about the sport but haven't had the chance to play before.

What if my child isn't sure they'll like hockey?

That's exactly why we created Hometown Hockey! We want kids to have an accessible, welcoming way to try the sport, build confidence, and discover what makes hockey so much fun.
