Players practice together on Friday evenings and take part in a weekend scrimmage or game against nearby community programs. The emphasis is on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and having fun—not long travel schedules or competition.

Whether a player is continuing from Jumpstart!, returning to hockey after time away, or simply looking for an affordable, lower-commitment way to stay in the game, Hometown Hockey offers a place to grow, compete, and make friends. Every player receives meaningful ice time, supportive coaching, and opportunities to build confidence on and off the ice.

Our program goal is simple: to provide a true hometown hockey experience where every player can continue to develop, enjoy the game, and be part of a team that values effort, development, and fun.

Practices: 1 weeknight per week; 60-minute-long and station-based

Practice Location: Legacy20 Arena Middleton

Development Assessments: no

First Games: approximately November 15th

Games: ~8-10 weekend games

Ice Size: 1/2-ice

Travel: weekend games around Madison from mid-November through late February

Tournaments: no

End of Season: late February

Goalies: yes; club provides gear

Volunteers needed: coaches, team managers, timekeepers at home games, and board members, event volunteers, photography/social media contributors, fundraising helpers, jerseys & gear crew

The 1st-half-only option, early November through December, is $185 (or $225 for non-MCPASD skaters).

The 2nd-half-only option, January through late February, is $185 (or $225 non-MCPASD).

*All HH players must purchase a new reversible practice jersey this year.

4) Please let us know if you can help coach or volunteer. It takes a village. No experience necessary.

6) Sort equipment for the season. MYH offers a fantastic gear rental program for MCPASD skaters. Locally, Play-it-Again Sports, Pure Hockey, Facebook Marketplace, and Sideline Swap are great places to start your search for new & used hockey gear.

7) If you'd like other family members to receive MYH emails and access your skater's schedule & admin panel, create a CrossBar account for them and then link them to the account where you administer the youth hockey players in your family.
