Program Overview
Hometown Hockey is our recreational winter hockey program for 9- to 14-year-olds who want to begin or continue developing their hockey skills while enjoying the fun of being part of a team. Built on the same welcoming philosophy as our successful Jumpstart! program, Hometown Hockey provides an accessible, community-focused hockey experience without the demands of traditional travel hockey. Hometown Hockey is open to skaters from other area hockey clubs and school districts (not just Middleton or MCPASD).
Players practice together on Friday evenings and take part in a weekend scrimmage or game against nearby community programs. The emphasis is on skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and having fun—not long travel schedules or competition.

Our program goal is simple: to provide a true hometown hockey experience where every player can continue to develop, enjoy the game, and be part of a team that values effort, development, and fun.

Hometown Hockey Program Fees
Our Hometown Hockey program offers a split-season option to provide scheduling and financial flexibility for our recreational hockey families.
Most will register for the full season for $500. This is the easiest route for our booking software if you intend to participate in the full season.

Register your Skater
1) Register your player with USA Hockey. This is required annually.
2) Log in to (or create) your family MYH CrossBar account.
3) Register your player for the season with MYH in CrossBar.
4) Please let us know if you can help coach or volunteer. It takes a village. No experience necessary.
5) Download the free CrossBar mobile app (which pairs with our website and will provide access to schedules, communication tools, etc.) from your favorite mobile app store. Here are the links to the Apple Store version & Google Play version.
6) Sort equipment for the season. MYH offers a fantastic gear rental program for MCPASD skaters. Locally, Play-it-Again Sports, Pure Hockey, Facebook Marketplace, and Sideline Swap are great places to start your search for new & used hockey gear.
7) If you'd like other family members to receive MYH emails and access your skater's schedule & admin panel, create a CrossBar account for them and then link them to the account where you administer the youth hockey players in your family.
Volunteering
Middleton Youth Hockey only functions due to the hard work and energy of our volunteers. Our parents, coaches, managers, board members, and other unpaid volunteers are what keep quality ice hockey happening for Middleton kids.
