What to Expect
Our program is only an hour long, so we're just trying to make everyone comfortable and happy on the ice! Participants will enjoy a fun, beginner-friendly session that includes:
- Learning basic skating and hockey skills
- Fun games and activities
- Plenty of support from MYH's certified coaches and volunteers
- A safe, encouraging environment where kids can simply enjoy being on the ice
The goal is simple: have fun while discovering the game of hockey.
Equipment
We provide limited loaner hockey equipment, including skates and protective gear.
Please bring:
- A bicycle or hockey helmet (if you have one)
- Gloves (winter gloves are acceptable if hockey gloves are unavailable)
- Comfortable athletic clothing or sweatpants
- A water bottle
If you already own skates, knee or elbow pads, or hockey equipment, please bring it all along.
After our THFF event
Families interested in continuing hockey can learn about MYH's Learn to Play and youth hockey programs. Coaches and volunteers will be available to answer questions about next steps, equipment, registration, and the upcoming season.
